Mass Flow Meters

Meters that vibrate one or more flow tubes and measure the Coriolis force-induced phase shift to derive mass flow, with simultaneous density and temperature output. They are the primary choice for high-accuracy liquid and gas measurement in oil and gas.

Coriolis designs using curved or U-shaped flow tubes, which provide high sensitivity and accuracy across a wide flow range. The bent geometry suits liquids, slurries, and gas but requires drainage consideration for hygienic or self-draining service.

Coriolis meters with single or dual straight tubes that minimize pressure drop and allow self-draining and easy cleaning. They are favored for low-pressure-loss applications and fluids prone to coating or solids buildup.

Meters that determine gas mass flow from the heat carried away by the flowing stream, typically using a heated sensor and temperature measurement. They are common for flare gas, fuel gas, and low-pressure gas metering where Coriolis cost or pressure drop is a concern.

Coriolis meters certified and configured for fiscal measurement at points of sale or ownership change, meeting legal-metrology and accuracy requirements. They are used in lease automatic custody transfer (LACT) units and allocation skids.

Coriolis meters with entrained-gas handling or correction algorithms that maintain measurement through slugging, gas voids, or wet-gas conditions. They support well testing and production allocation where flow is not single-phase.

The signal-processing and output electronics that drive the meter tubes, compute mass flow and density, and provide diagnostics, in-situ verification, and digital or analog outputs. They interface the meter to control systems and metering computers.
