Active (Hydraulically Actuated) RCDs
Units whose sealing element is energized by external hydraulic pressure, allowing the operator to adjust sealing force and accommodate higher pressures and varying pipe sizes. Common on dynamic MPD operations requiring tight annular control.
Passive RCDs
Units in which annular wellbore pressure and an interference fit energize the sealing element against the pipe, with no external hydraulics. Favored for simpler underbalanced and air-drilling applications.
High-Pressure RCDs
Heavy-duty rotating control devices rated for elevated static and dynamic working pressures for deep, high-pressure MPD and underbalanced wells. Built with reinforced bearing assemblies and metal-to-metal body seals.
RCD Sealing Elements (Rubbers/Stripper Rubbers)
Replaceable elastomeric inserts that seal around the drill pipe and tool joints while rotating. Available in single and dual configurations and in compounds (such as nitrile or hydrogenated nitrile) selected for fluid type, temperature, and abrasion.
RCD Bearing Assemblies
The rotating cartridge that carries the sealing element and isolates it from the static housing, allowing the assembly to spin with the pipe. Often supplied as a quick-change unit to minimize trip and replacement time.
Rotating Heads (Low-Pressure Diverters)
Lower-pressure rotating diverters used primarily in air, mist, and foam drilling to divert returns away from the rig floor. The historical predecessor design to higher-pressure RCDs.
Marine / Riser-Mounted RCDs
RCDs configured for offshore floating and fixed installations, integrated into the marine riser or installed below the rig floor for MPD on subsea and surface BOP wells.
RCD Spare Parts and Service Kits
Seal kits, bearing rebuild kits, latch and clamp assemblies, and wear components supplied for field maintenance and overhaul of installed rotating control devices.
