Fluid End Consumables

Cylindrical sleeves that form the bore in which the piston reciprocates, available as bimetal (steel outer shell with a hardened cast-iron or alloy inner bore) and ceramic (zirconia-bored) types for greater abrasion resistance and longer service life.

The reciprocating assembly that displaces fluid within the liner, consisting of a metal hub and a replaceable elastomer or urethane sealing element that wipes the liner bore; sized to match the liner ID and rated discharge pressure.

Matched suction and discharge check valve assemblies and their tapered seats that control one-way flow through the fluid end; replaceable inserts and full-open or three-web designs are selected by API valve number and fluid abrasiveness.

Static and dynamic seals including liner gaskets, cover seals, and seal rings that contain pressure at the liner-to-module and cover joints, preventing washout and leakage from the fluid end.

Sealing elements around the piston rod and intermediate (pony) rod that contain drilling fluid where the reciprocating rod passes out of the fluid end, typically supplied as packing sets or rod seal assemblies.

Pressure vessels mounted on the discharge (and sometimes suction) of the pump that absorb the pressure pulses created by reciprocating action, smoothing flow and reducing vibration and fatigue on downstream piping.

The forged or machined block that houses the valves, seats, liner bore, and ports for a single cylinder; offered as a replacement wear item on frac pumps and high-pressure fluid ends where the module is the primary pressure-containing consumable.

The higher-pressure equivalent components, including frac valve seats, frac pump packing, and frac pump seals, designed for the elevated rates and pressures of hydraulic fracturing service rather than conventional drilling mud circulation.
