Valve Cover Systems

Covers that screw directly into the threaded valve pot bore of the fluid cylinder, sealing against a shoulder or O-ring. They are common on legacy and mid-pressure triplex pumps and are made up and broken out with a cover wrench or hammer.

Covers retained by an external clamp, segmented ring, or yoke rather than by threads, allowing the cover to be removed without rotating it. They reduce valve-change time and are favored on high-cycle, high-pressure fluid ends.

Covers secured by a bolted flange or stud-and-nut arrangement that distributes clamping load evenly around the seal. They suit the highest pressure ratings and large-bore fluid ends where uniform sealing force is critical.

The elastomeric O-rings, T-seals, or metal-backed seals that create the pressure boundary between the cover and the valve pot. Compound selection (nitrile, HNBR, FKM) is matched to mud chemistry, temperature, and pressure.

The threaded plugs, retainer nuts, clamp rings, and yokes that hold the cover against pump pressure. They are sized to the specific fluid-end model and transmit the seating load to the cylinder body.

Internal components that locate the cover and position the valve spring beneath it, keeping the suction or discharge valve aligned in its seat. They maintain valve travel and seating geometry through each pump stroke.

Service kits bundling the seals, retainer hardware, and wear parts needed to refurbish a cover assembly. They are stocked by fluid-end model to support routine maintenance at the rig.
