Saltwater Disposal (SWD) Solutions

Permitted injection wells that receive produced water and brine for permanent subsurface disposal rather than enhanced recovery. They are completed into a deep injection zone and operated within UIC-permitted pressure and volume limits.

Pipelines, gathering lines, transfer pumps, and tank batteries that move produced water from wellsites to a disposal facility. Networked systems reduce truck traffic and feed centralized SWD hubs.

Above-ground equipment such as gun barrels, skim tanks, filtration, and oil-recovery systems that remove residual hydrocarbons, suspended solids, and iron before injection. Clean influent protects the injection zone from plugging.

High-pressure plunger or centrifugal pumps, injection wellheads, and tubing/packer assemblies that deliver treated water into the disposal formation. Sizing is set by injection rate and required surface pressure.

Engineering, geologic, and administrative work to obtain and maintain UIC Class II permits, including area-of-review studies, injection-zone characterization, and state agency filings.

Periodic pressure and tracer testing required to demonstrate that a disposal well has no leaks in casing, tubing, or packer. MIT compliance is mandatory to keep an injection permit active.

Vacuum-truck transport of produced water from wellsites to disposal facilities where pipeline gathering is unavailable. Often paired with disposal-by-the-barrel service contracts.

Treatment trains that condition produced water for reuse in hydraulic fracturing instead of disposal, reducing injected volumes and freshwater demand. Used where regulators or operators prioritize water reuse over injection.
