Slickline
A single, smooth, non-armored steel wire (carbon, alloy, or stainless) run to convey and operate downhole tools by mechanical force without any conductor for power or data.
Sandline
An abrasion-resistant, often galvanized steel wire rope used to run sand bailers and pumps for wellbore cleanout and debris removal.
Drill Line
A heavy hoisting wire rope (commonly 6x19 Seale or 6x26) reeved through the drawworks and crown blocks to raise the mast and support the drill string during drilling operations.
Swabline
A braided steel cable used to run swab cups that remove fluid from the wellbore and initiate production by reducing hydrostatic head.
Tubing Line
A swaged or IWRC wire rope (such as 6x26WS or 6x31) used on workover and well-servicing rigs to handle and hoist tubing during completion and intervention work.
Fiber Optic Cables
An electro-optical wireline cable carrying single-mode optical fibers for downhole distributed temperature (DTS) and distributed acoustic (DAS) sensing and high-bandwidth well monitoring.
Geothermal Cables
A high-temperature wireline cable engineered to maintain conductor insulation and armor integrity in the extreme heat of geothermal wells.
Greaseless Cables
An environmentally friendly wireline cable with a sealed outer construction that eliminates the need for cable grease, suited to offshore and unconventional operations.
Monoconductor Wireline
A single-conductor electromechanical cable that carries one insulated conductor inside the armor to power and communicate with cased-hole logging and intervention tools.
Multi-conductor Wireline
A multi-conductor electromechanical cable (commonly 7-conductor) that carries several insulated conductors for advanced open-hole logging and combinable tool strings.
Sour Service Cables
A corrosion-resistant, NACE-compliant wireline cable built to withstand hydrogen sulfide (H2S) exposure in sour gas wells.
