Shell-and-Tube Heat Exchangers
Bundles of tubes inside a cylindrical shell that pass one fluid through the tubes and another around them across baffles. They are the workhorse exchanger for high-pressure and high-temperature oil and gas duties and are designed to TEMA classes R, C, or B.
Plate Heat Exchangers
Stacks of gasketed, brazed, or welded corrugated plates that create thin alternating flow channels for high heat-transfer efficiency in a compact footprint. They suit clean, lower-pressure liquid duties such as cooling-water and lube-oil service.
Air-Cooled Heat Exchangers (Fin-Fan Coolers)
Finned tube bundles cooled by forced or induced draft fans, used where cooling water is scarce. They reject heat from gas, condensate, and process streams directly to ambient air at compressor stations and gas plants.
Indirect Fired Heaters / Line Heaters
Vessels in which a fired tube heats an intermediate bath (water, glycol, or molten salt) that in turn warms a process coil. They are widely used to heat wellhead gas ahead of choking and pressure regulation to prevent hydrate and ice formation.
Direct Fired Heaters / Process Heaters
Furnaces in which burner flame and combustion gases heat process fluid flowing through radiant and convection coils. They serve high-duty heating such as crude preheat and reboiler service in larger processing facilities.
Reboilers
Heat exchangers that boil the bottoms of a distillation or regeneration column to generate stripping vapor. In gas treating they regenerate amine and glycol solvents and are commonly kettle, thermosiphon, or fired-tube designs.
Electric Process Heaters
Heaters that use resistance elements, such as flanged immersion bundles or circulation heaters, to warm fluids without combustion. They are applied where a flame is undesirable, including freeze protection, viscosity control, and remote or hazardous-area heating.
Waste Heat Recovery Units
Exchangers that capture heat from engine, turbine, or process exhaust to preheat feed or generate hot fluid. They improve overall plant thermal efficiency and reduce fired-heater fuel consumption.
