Vertical Heater Treaters
Cylindrical vessels with a vertical axis in which fluids rise through heating and coalescing sections. Their compact footprint suits lower-volume wells and locations with limited surface area.
Horizontal Heater Treaters
Vessels with a horizontal axis that provide a large interfacial settling area and longer fluid retention. They handle high liquid volumes and high water cuts more efficiently than vertical units.
Direct-Fired Treaters
Units in which a fire tube burner transfers heat directly to the produced fluids through the tube wall. They offer high thermal efficiency and are the most common configuration for routine crude dehydration.
Indirect-Fired Treaters
Units that heat an intermediate bath, typically water or glycol, which in turn warms the process fluids, isolating the burner flame from the hydrocarbon stream. The arrangement reduces hot-spot fouling and localized overheating risk where fluids are corrosive or coke-prone.
Free-Water Knockout (FWKO) Treaters
Treaters incorporating an inlet section that removes free, unemulsified water before the heating stage. Pre-removing bulk water lowers the heat load required to break the remaining emulsion.
Electrostatic Treaters
Heater treaters fitted with a high-voltage electrode grid that applies an electric field to polarize and coalesce fine water droplets. They achieve low BS&W on tight or heavy-oil emulsions that heat alone cannot resolve.
Fire Tube Assemblies and Components
Replaceable U-tube or straight fire tubes, burners, and no-leak flange assemblies that form the heating element of a treater. These components are sized to a heat-flux rating to limit tube-wall temperature and prevent fouling.
Chemical Demulsifier (Emulsion Breaker) Systems
Injection packages and the surfactant chemistries that destabilize the oil-water interfacial film ahead of or within the treater. They are dosed to match the specific emulsion and reduce the heat and residence time needed for separation.
