API 6A Gate Valves
Full-bore gate valves manufactured to API Spec 6A for wellhead and Christmas tree service, providing bidirectional isolation at rated working pressures from 2,000 to 20,000 psi. They are the primary master, wing, and kill valves on surface trees.
Expanding Gate Valves
Gate valves using a two-piece gate-and-segment that mechanically expands against both seats in the fully open and fully closed positions, creating a positive double-block seal. The design protects sealing surfaces from flow erosion while the valve is being stroked.
Slab (Through-Conduit) Gate Valves
Gate valves with a single solid slab gate and a smooth full-opening bore that allows unrestricted passage of fluids and wireline tools. Seats are typically floating or spring-energized to maintain contact across the pressure range.
Greaseless / Frac Gate Valves
Gate valves designed to seal without injected body grease, using metal-to-metal or polymer seat technology to withstand the abrasive proppant-laden slurry of hydraulic fracturing. They are rated for the high cycle and erosion duty of frac trees and manifolds.
Choke Valves
Flow-control valves that throttle and reduce wellstream pressure and rate, available as positive (fixed-bean) or adjustable types with replaceable trim. Adjustable chokes vary the orifice via an external or internal stem to manage drawdown and flowing pressure.
Surface Safety / ESD Valves
Hydraulically or pneumatically actuated gate valves that fail to the safe position on loss of control signal, providing automatic emergency shutdown isolation of the wellstream. They form the actuated barrier in surface safety systems on the wellhead and tree.
Back-Pressure Valves
Check-type valves installed in the tubing hanger or tree to hold downhole pressure while the upper tree or BOP is removed for servicing. They allow downward circulation while preventing upward flow.
Wellhead Ball Valves
Quarter-turn valves with a bored ball closure used for isolation on flowlines, kill, and auxiliary lines associated with the wellhead. They offer fast on/off operation where full-bore gate isolation is not required.
