Diesel Frac Pump Trailers
Conventional units driven by a high-horsepower diesel engine coupled through a transmission to the plunger pump, providing self-contained mobile pumping without external power. They remain the most common spread unit because each trailer is independent of site infrastructure.
Electric Frac Pump Trailers (e-frac)
Trailers in which the plunger pump is driven by a variable-frequency-drive electric motor fed from a site power grid, gas turbine, or generator set. They reduce on-trailer engine maintenance and emissions and allow finer rate control.
Dual-Fuel and Gas Turbine Frac Pump Trailers
Units whose prime mover burns a blend of diesel and field/natural gas, or a gas turbine driving the pump, to lower fuel cost and emissions versus pure diesel. The pump and fluid end are otherwise comparable to diesel units.
Triplex Pump Trailers
Trailers built around a three-plunger positive-displacement fluid end, offering robust high-pressure capability at moderate flow rates. Triplex configurations are common where higher discharge pressure is prioritized over peak rate.
Quintuplex Pump Trailers
Trailers built around a five-plunger fluid end, delivering higher flow rate and smoother discharge with reduced pulsation compared with triplex units. They are favored on modern high-rate fracturing spreads.
New-Build Frac Pump Trailers
Complete units assembled to a customer specification, integrating the chosen pump, power end, driver, transmission, cooling, lube, and control systems onto a road-legal trailer chassis. Build scope covers frame fabrication, piping, and commissioning.
Refurbished and Remanufactured Trailers
Used units rebuilt to restore rated horsepower and pressure, typically including fluid-end replacement, power-end overhaul, repowering, and re-piping. Refurbishment extends service life at lower cost than a new build.
Fluid Ends and Pump Replacement Components
The wear-intensive high-pressure section of the pump (housing, plungers, packing, valves, and seats) and related expendables supplied for trailer maintenance. These are consumable items replaced frequently due to abrasive proppant service.
