Powershift Transmissions
Multi-ratio transmissions that shift under load without interrupting power flow, using hydraulically actuated clutch packs. They are the dominant configuration on modern frac pump units because they allow rate and pressure changes during a treatment.
Dual-Layshaft (Twin-Countershaft) Transmissions
Designs that split engine torque across two parallel countershafts to share gear loading and reduce package length. This architecture supports the high torque of 2,500-3,000 HP frac duty while controlling gear face widths.
Multi-Speed Frac Transmissions (6/8/9-Speed)
Transmissions classified by their number of forward gear ratios, commonly 6, 8, or 9 speeds. More ratios give operators finer control to match pump rate and discharge pressure to the frac stage design.
Torque Converter and Clutch Couplings
Hydrodynamic torque converters or hydraulic clutch units that couple the prime mover to the transmission input. They absorb startup shock and provide smooth engagement under the heavy loads of pressure pumping.
Frac Pump Gearboxes / Reduction Gearboxes
Fixed or selectable reduction gear units that step engine speed down to the plunger pump's operating range. They are matched to the power end to deliver target stroke rates at rated pressure.
Driveline and Power Transfer Components
Driveshafts, U-joints, yokes, and power-transfer assemblies that connect the engine, transmission, and pump power end. These parts transmit torque along the unit and are common wear and replacement items.
Remanufactured and Rebuilt Transmissions
Used transmissions disassembled, inspected, and restored with new bearings, seals, clutches, and gears to original or upgraded specification. Reman units are a cost-effective alternative to new for high-cycle frac fleets.
Repair Parts and Rebuild Kits
Service components such as clutch packs, friction plates, bearings, seals, gaskets, and gearsets supplied for in-field or shop overhaul. Kits are typically organized by transmission model and service interval.
