Cutting of API Spec 5B connection forms — short round (STC), long round (LTC), and buttress (BTC) — on casing and tubing in standard OCTG sizes. Threads are gaged to 5B stand-off requirements before the pipe is accepted.

Machining of proprietary gas-tight and high-torque connection profiles (metal-to-metal seals, flush and semi-flush designs) under license from the connection originator. Used where API connections cannot meet the well's pressure, sealing, or running-clearance requirements.

Cutting and recutting of API Spec 7-2 rotary shouldered connections on drill pipe tool joints, drill collars, and bottom-hole assembly components. These connections seal on a shoulder rather than the threads and carry combined torsional and tensile drilling loads.

Manufacture of crossover subs and pup joints that join two different connection types or sizes within a string. Each end is threaded to its respective API or premium form so dissimilar connections can be made up together.

Removal of damaged, galled, or worn thread on used pipe and recutting to a serviceable connection, often as a refacing or re-cut of the box or pin. Restores connections to gageable condition without replacing the joint.

Dimensional verification of cut connections using API working and master gages to confirm thread stand-off, taper, lead, and profile. Includes visual examination for surface defects, galling, and handling damage before the pipe is released.

API ring, plug, and stand-off gages and associated instruments used to qualify connections to 5B and 7-2 tolerances. Master gages are certified and traceable, with working gages calibrated against them.
