Casing Running Tools

Top-drive-mounted tools that internally or externally grip the casing to combine hoisting, rotation, and circulation in one connection. They allow casing to be rotated and reciprocated while running through tight or deviated hole sections.

Integrated drive-tool assemblies that transmit top-drive torque and weight directly to the casing string for makeup and running. They support pushing, pulling, rotating, and circulating without conventional tongs.

Conventional handling tools that grip and suspend casing at the rig floor: elevators hoist individual joints while the slip-type spider holds the string in the rotary table during connection makeup.

Float collars and float shoes containing check valves that prevent backflow of cement and fluid, provide a landing seat for cementing plugs, and allow controlled fill while running casing.

Tapered or eccentric shoes attached to the casing bottom that guide the string past ledges and doglegs; reaming shoes add a cutting structure to ream through restrictions and minor obstructions while running in.

Bow-spring or rigid standoff devices fitted along the casing to keep it concentric in the hole, improving cement displacement and uniform sheath thickness in the annulus.

Bottom and top wiper plug assemblies run with the casing to separate cement from displacing fluid and wipe the casing inner wall, isolating the cement slurry during placement.

Setting tools and running equipment used to deploy and hang a liner from an existing casing string, transmitting weight, rotation, and circulation to the liner before it is hung and released.
