Casing Running Services

Top-drive-mounted tools that grip casing internally or externally to lift, rotate, reciprocate, and make up the string, combining hoisting and torque application in a single tool. They replace conventional elevators, slips, and power tongs for faster, hands-off pipe handling.

Elevators, single-joint elevators, slips, spiders, and casing handling packages used to support and position joints on the rig floor and in the derrick. This equipment safely transfers pipe weight between the traveling block, the rotary table, and pickup arms.

Power tongs, bucking units, and computerized torque-turn monitoring that apply and verify make-up of API and premium casing connections to specification. The systems record torque, turns, and shoulder position to confirm each joint meets connection acceptance criteria.

Bow-spring or rigid (solid-body) devices clamped around the casing to keep it centered in the borehole and provide standoff for an even cement sheath. Centralizer type and placement are selected from standoff calculations for the well's deviation and hole geometry.

Guide shoes, float shoes, float collars, stop collars, and stage tools run as part of the casing string to guide it downhole and control cement placement. These accessories establish the cementing path and prevent backflow of cement after displacement.

Field inspection and drifting of casing to verify wall thickness, threads, dimensions, and full-bore drift diameter before and during running. A drift mandrel is pulled or dropped through each joint to confirm the string will pass subsequent tools and completion equipment.

Specialized crews and supervisors who rig up casing tools, run the string, and operate make-up equipment on land and offshore operations. Crews provide the labor and oversight for installation independent of the drilling contractor's rig crew.

Tools that fill the casing with mud and allow circulation through the string while running to manage surge pressure and avoid collapse from running dry. They connect to the top of the string and route fluid without removing the running tool.
