Accumulator Units (Closing Units)
Skid- or trailer-mounted hydraulic power units that store pressurized fluid in accumulator bottles and house pumps, valves, and manifolds to operate the BOP stack. Also called closing units or, by legacy brand, Koomey units.
Accumulator Bottles
Nitrogen-precharged pressure vessels (bladder, float, or piston type) that store hydraulic energy so the BOP can be closed rapidly and at least once without pump power.
Hydraulic Pump Systems
Air-driven and electric-driven triplex or piston pumps that recharge the accumulator bank and maintain system operating pressure, sized to meet API 16D recharge-time requirements.
Control Manifolds and Valves
Four-way control valves, regulators, and the BOP manifold that direct hydraulic fluid to individual ram, annular, and choke/kill functions and set their operating pressures.
Remote Control Panels
Driller's and remote (toolpusher) panels that actuate BOP functions away from the closing unit, including air-operated and electric remote stations for emergency closure.
Control Lines and Flexible Hoses
Rigid control lines and fire-resistant flexible BOP control hoses that carry hydraulic fluid from the unit to the stack; flexible lines for this service follow API 16D and, for choke/kill duty, API 16C.
Choke and Kill Hose Assemblies
High-pressure flexible hose assemblies connecting the BOP stack to the choke and kill manifolds, rated for well fluids and built to API 16C requirements.
Spare Parts and Repair Kits
Replacement seals, regulators, valves, bladders, and pump components (including Koomey-type spares) used to maintain and recertify existing control units.
