Pipe Rams
Rams machined to a fixed pipe size that seal around a specific tubular outside diameter such as drill pipe or casing. The most common ram type for routine well shut-in around in-hole pipe.
Variable Bore Rams (VBR)
Rams that seal across a range of pipe diameters using a segmented steel insert and flexible packer. They reduce inventory by covering multiple pipe sizes with a single ram set.
Blind Rams
Rams with flat sealing faces that close and seal an open hole when no pipe is across the bore. Used to isolate the well when the drill string is out of the BOP.
Shear Rams
Rams with hardened cutting blades that sever the drill pipe under hydraulic force as part of emergency well control. Standard shear rams cut the pipe but do not necessarily seal.
Blind Shear Rams
Combination rams that cut the pipe and then seal the open bore in a single closing sequence. They provide a last-resort means of fully isolating the well with pipe in the hole.
Ram Block and Packer Sets
Replaceable internal components including the ram block bodies, top seals, and front packers sized to a given bore and pipe. These are the consumable sealing elements changed during dressing and maintenance.
Multi-Cavity Ram Preventers
Single-body preventers stacked with two, three, or four ram cavities (double, triple, or quad) to combine pipe, blind, and shear functions in a compact assembly. Reduces stack height versus separate single-ram bodies.
Ram BOP Operating Systems
The hydraulic actuators, bonnets, locking mechanisms, and seals that drive and hold the rams closed. Includes manual and hydraulic ram locks that maintain sealing force if hydraulic pressure is lost.
