Tee-Pattern (Standard) Globe Valves
The most common configuration, with inlet and outlet inline and an internal Z- or S-shaped flow path. Used for general isolation and throttling where the higher pressure drop of the standard body is acceptable.
Angle-Pattern Globe Valves
Bodies with inlet and outlet oriented at 90 degrees, combining a valve and a piping elbow in one component. Reduces fittings, eases piping layout, and lowers turbulence in throttling and frequent on/off service.
Cage-Guided Globe Control Valves
Control valves in which the plug travels inside a slotted or drilled cage that guides the plug and shapes the flow characteristic. Used for precise modulating control and for managing noise and cavitation in process applications.
Forged Steel Globe Valves
Compact valves built from forged carbon or alloy steel bodies, typically in smaller bore sizes and higher pressure classes. Common in instrument, drain, vent, and high-pressure process lines per API 602.
Cast Steel Globe Valves
Larger-bore valves with cast carbon or alloy steel bodies covering wider size ranges and ASME pressure classes per API 600. Used on main process, steam, and utility lines.
Bellows-Sealed Globe Valves
Globe valves with a welded metal bellows around the stem to provide a leak-tight barrier to atmosphere in addition to the gland packing. Specified for toxic, volatile, or fugitive-emission-sensitive media.
Y-Pattern (Y-Globe) Valves
Valves with the seat and stem set at an oblique angle to the flow, giving a straighter, lower-resistance flow path than the tee pattern. Applied to high-pressure and high-flow lines where reduced pressure drop is desired.
Throttling / Flow-Control Globe Valves
Globe valves fitted with shaped plugs or trim to regulate flow rate across the travel range rather than provide only on/off service. Used where stable flow setting and good control resolution are required.
