Calfrac - Hydraulic Fracturing is the fracturing division of Calfrac Well Services Ltd., one of the largest Canadian-headquartered pressure pumping companies in the world. The division provides hydraulic fracturing services for unconventional oil and natural gas formations across Canada, the United States, and Argentina, operating a combined fleet of approximately 1.2 million horsepower (company-wide). Calfrac specializes in slickwater solutions for fresh and high TDS brine applications, high viscosity friction reducer fluid systems, and traditional gel-based, crosslink, and energized fracturing. The division's proprietary CalVisc fracturing fluid system serves as an alternative to conventional crosslinked fluids. In 2024, Calfrac commenced a multi-year fleet modernization program upgrading to Tier IV Dynamic Gas Blending (DGB) dual-fuel pumping units with CAT 3512E engines. The company was founded in 1999 in Medicine Hat, Alberta, and is publicly traded on the TSX under the symbol CFW. Company-wide revenue was approximately $1.1 billion in 2024 with roughly 2,200 employees across all divisions.
