DRILBITS International Private Limited (DBI) is an Indian manufacturer of roller cone rock bits for the oil and gas drilling, mining, and water-well drilling industries. Founded and operating out of Nashik, Maharashtra, DBI's manufacturing facility was established in 1975 under a Technology Transfer Agreement with Smith Tools USA, with Smith Tools remaining as technical partner until 1990. Following Greaves' acquisition of the operation, the company continued developing roller cone bit technology at the same Nashik facility. DBI holds ISO 9001 certification for its Nashik plant and carries the API monogram under license 7-1-0208 (API Spec 7-1 — Rotary Drill Stem Elements), authorizing manufacture of roller cone drill bits to API standards. The company has formed a strategic partnership with Drilformance Technologies, a PDC technology leader, to extend its product offerings to emerging markets. DBI manufactures Standard Mill Tooth Bits, Tungsten Carbide Insert (TCI) Bits, Mining Bits, and Frac Plug Mill bits, serving customers in onshore and offshore oil exploration, blast hole mining, and water-well drilling.
