ELIN Motoren GmbH, a Voith Group subsidiary headquartered in Preding, Austria, manufactures rotating electrical machines including low- and high-voltage asynchronous motors, synchronous motors, permanent magnet motors, and generators. Founded in 1892 as F. Pichler Werke, the company rebranded to ELIN Motoren in 1908 and was fully acquired by Voith in 2021. The facility produces approximately 1,900 electric motors and generators annually with output ratings up to 65 MVA / 35 MW and voltages to 15 kV. ELIN Motoren serves the oil and gas, LNG, petrochemical, power generation, wind energy, marine, mining, tunnel boring, and plastics processing industries. The company employs approximately 1,100 people across operations in Austria, Bosnia, and Hungary. For oil and gas applications, ELIN Motoren provides explosion-proof motors with Exeb, Exec, Exd, and Exp protection types rated for ambient temperatures from -40C to +55C.
