Lanzhou LS Petroleum Equipment Engineering Co., Ltd (LSPE, 兰州兰石石油装备工程股份有限公司) is a major integrated drilling equipment manufacturer and wholly-owned subsidiary of Lanzhou Lanshi Group. Originally established as a Sino-American joint venture with National Oilwell Varco (NOV) in December 2000, it became fully Chinese-owned in April 2013 when NOV's equity was transferred to LS Group. LSPE traces its heritage to Lanzhou Petroleum Machinery Works, one of China's 156 key national construction projects from the First Five-Year Plan (1953). The company manufactures complete drilling rig systems from 4,000m to 9,000m depth capacity including DC electrical, variable frequency, and mechanical-electrical driven rigs, plus offshore drilling modules. Additional products include drilling pumps, traveling systems, solid control systems, electrical control systems, and conventional/out-of-phase crank pumping units. LSPE holds 5 API certifications (4F, 7K, 8C, 11E, Q1) and employs 1,000-2,000 people with registered capital of 1.44 billion CNY.
