Union Cement Company (UCC) is the first and biggest cement manufacturer in the United Arab Emirates, founded in 1972 in Khor Khwair Industrial Area, Ras Al Khaimah. Inaugurated by H.H. Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, UCC has been a cornerstone of UAE industrial development. The company has a production capacity of 4.8 million metric tons per annum and has been producing oil well cement under its 'Drill Well' brand since 1980, making it the first oil well cement producer in the UAE. UCC was the first cement manufacturer in the Middle East to obtain ISO 9000 certification (1994) and holds API Spec Q1, ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015, and ISO 45001:2018 certifications. UCC also carries API 10A monogram for oil well cement. Products include Ordinary Portland Cement, Sulphate Resisting Cement, Ground Granulated Blast Furnace Slag, Oil Well Cement (API Class G, B, and H HSR), Portland Cement Clinker, and Portland Limestone Cement. The company exports to markets across the Gulf, Middle East, East Africa, South Asia, and India. UCC was acquired by Shree Cement Group in 2018 and has an In-Country Value (ICV) score of 78.46%.
