Control Manifolds
Valve-and-piping assemblies that distribute pressurized power fluid from the surface pump to individual wells and collect return fluid. They allow an operator to start, stop, and isolate each well from a central control point.
Hydraulic Piston (Reciprocating) Pumps
Downhole units in which the power fluid drives a reciprocating engine piston that is directly coupled to a production piston, providing positive-displacement lift. Suited to deep and deviated wells where the pump can be circulated in and out on the power-fluid stream.
Jet Lift (Hydraulic Jet) Pumps
Downhole pumps that use a nozzle and venturi throat-and-diffuser to convert power-fluid pressure into velocity, entraining and reboosting produced fluid with no moving parts. Tolerant of gas, solids, and high rates, making them common in high-volume and abrasive wells.
Flow-Control Valves
Adjustable valves that set and hold the power-fluid injection rate to a given well, controlling the speed of the downhole pump. They are the primary means of tuning each well's production within a multi-well hydraulic battery.
Multiplex Plunger Power-Fluid Pumps
Surface horizontal reciprocating pumps (typically triplex or quintuplex) that pressurize the power fluid driving the downhole unit. They deliver high pressure at controlled rates to one or multiple wells from a central power-fluid plant.
Pressure-Regulating Valves
Valves that maintain a set power-fluid pressure regardless of upstream supply variation, protecting downhole equipment and stabilizing pump operation. They include relief and back-pressure types used to bleed off or cap system pressure.
Saltwater Disposal (SWD) Pumps
High-pressure reciprocating or multiplex pumps used to inject produced water into a disposal or injection well. They share construction with power-fluid pumps and are sized for sustained injection-pressure duty against formation backpressure.
Position-Sensing Cylinders
Hydraulic actuating cylinders fitted with internal position transducers that report rod or piston travel as an electrical signal. They give closed-loop feedback on stroke length and position for accurate, repeatable actuation.
Metering and Measurement Skids
Packaged units that meter power-fluid volume and rate to each well and totalize injected and returned fluid. They provide the flow data used to allocate production and balance the system.
Power-Fluid Conditioning Equipment
Surface tanks, settling vessels, filters, and treating systems that clean and deliver the oil or water used as power fluid. Conditioning protects close-tolerance downhole pump parts from solids and free gas.
Bottomhole Pump Assemblies and Cavities
The downhole seating nipple, standing valve, and pump cavity that receive a free or fixed downhole pump. Free-type designs allow the pump to be hydraulically circulated to surface for service without pulling tubing.
Surface Control Panels and Instrumentation
Local panels and sensors (pressure, rate, stroke, and level) that monitor the hydraulic circuit and present operating status. They integrate with field automation for remote monitoring and shutdown.
Power-Fluid Conditioning and Filtration
Filters, strainers, and treating components that clean the power fluid before it is pumped downhole. Maintaining fluid cleanliness protects close-tolerance valves and downhole pumps from abrasive wear.
Fluid Ends and Expendable Parts
Replaceable wetted components of multiplex pumps, including plungers, valves, seats, packing, and liners. These wear parts are matched to fluid corrosivity, pressure, and abrasive content.
