Insert (Rod) Pumps
Complete pump assemblies, including barrel and plunger, that are run and retrieved on the sucker rod string and seated in a downhole anchor/seating nipple. They allow the whole pump to be pulled for service without removing the tubing.
Tubing Pumps
Pumps whose working barrel is made up as part of the tubing string and run with the tubing, while the plunger and traveling valve are run on the rods. They offer a larger bore and higher displacement than insert pumps of the same tubing size but require pulling the tubing to change the barrel.
Barrels
The cylindrical working bore of the pump in which the plunger reciprocates, supplied in heavy-wall and thin-wall configurations and in honed or chrome/metal-spray-lined options to match fluid and wear conditions.
Plungers
The close-fitting piston that reciprocates within the barrel to displace fluid, available in metal-fit (lapped) and spray-metal/coated finishes, with the plunger-to-barrel fit clearance selected for fluid viscosity, gas, and solids.
Valve Assemblies (Balls and Seats)
The standing and traveling check valves that control flow through the pump, each comprising a ball and a matched seat (cage assembly) in materials such as cobalt-chrome alloy, tungsten carbide, ceramic, or silicon nitride for corrosion and wear resistance.
Cages and Pull/Seating Components
The cages that house and guide the valve balls plus the seating, hold-down, and pull-tube fittings that anchor an insert pump in the tubing and connect the assembly to the rod string.
Gas and Solids Management Pumps
Pump configurations adapted for gassy or sand-laden wells, such as sand/abrasion-resistant barrels and plungers and designs intended to reduce gas locking and fluid pound.
