Manual Drill Collar Slips
Hand-set hinged slips placed and removed by the crew, the standard configuration for onshore land rigs gripping drill collars in the rotary.
Drill Collar Slip-and-Bushing Sets
Matched assemblies of collar slips and a tapered master bushing insert sized so the slip taper seats correctly in a given rotary table for a specific collar OD range.
Long-Body (Extended) Collar Slips
Slips with an elongated body and additional die rows that increase gripping length to handle heavy or large-diameter collars and to reduce contact stress on the collar wall.
Hinged Multi-Segment Slips
Two- or three-segment hinged slips that open to wrap around the collar, sized to the rotary bushing bore for a range of collar outside diameters.
Replacement Slip Dies and Inserts
Hardened, toothed gripping inserts that mount in the slip body and contact the collar; consumable items replaced as teeth wear or dull.
Safety (Backup) Slips
Supplemental slips set above or below the primary slips to provide additional holding capacity or a redundant hold on heavy drill-collar strings.
Combination Pipe/Collar Slips
Slip assemblies supplied with interchangeable inserts or bodies allowing use on both tool-jointed drill pipe and slick drill collars within rated size ranges.
