Iron Roughnecks - Onshore

Self-contained units that combine spinning wrench and torque wrench in one carriage positioned at the rig floor well center. They handle the full make-up and break-out cycle for drill pipe and drill collars during tripping and connection operations.

Heavy-duty roughnecks rated for large-diameter drill collars, casing, and premium connections requiring elevated make-up torque, often into the 100,000 ft-lb class such as the TR-110 designation. Used where deep wells and large bottom-hole assemblies demand greater clamping and torque capacity.

The component or stand-alone tool that grips and rapidly rotates the pipe to thread or unthread a connection up to the shoulder before final torque is applied. It performs the high-speed, low-torque portion of the makeup cycle.

The clamping jaw assembly that applies and measures the final make-up or break-out torque on a connection to its rated specification. Integrated load cells record torque and turns to document each connection.

Hydraulically driven gripping tongs that rotate pipe to apply controlled torque, used for casing, tubing, and drill pipe makeup either as a stand-alone unit or as part of an iron roughneck. They serve as the powered replacement for manual rig tongs.
