Fire & Gas Detection

Optical detectors that sense the radiation signature of an open flame using ultraviolet (UV), infrared (IR), combined UV/IR, or multi-spectrum IR sensors. They are used outdoors and in process areas where fast response to hydrocarbon or hydrogen fires is required, with hydrogen-capable models tuned to the weak visible/UV signature of hydrogen flames.

Point and open-path instruments that measure the concentration of flammable gases (by catalytic bead or infrared sensing) and toxic gases such as H2S (by electrochemical sensing), alarming on rising levels. They provide early warning of leaks at wellheads, compressors, and process modules before a flammable atmosphere reaches ignitable levels.

Fixed-temperature, rate-of-rise, and linear heat detection cable that respond to abnormal heat, together with smoke detectors that respond to combustion particles. They are applied in enclosures, control rooms, cable trays, and buildings where flame may be obscured or smoke precedes visible fire.

Logic solvers and fire alarm control panels that receive detector inputs, execute voting logic, annunciate alarms, and command outputs to suppression and shutdown. Safety-rated panels are certified to functional-safety standards (IEC 61508/61511) and interface with the facility ESD system.

Engineered systems that extinguish or control fire on detection, including water deluge and spray, gaseous clean-agent and CO2 systems, and foam systems for hydrocarbon pool fires. They are deployed on process skids, turbine and engine enclosures, and storage areas.

Liquid concentrates proportioned into water to form a vapor-suppressing blanket over flammable liquid fires, including modern fluorine-free (PFAS-free) formulations replacing legacy AFFF. They are used at tank farms, loading areas, and helideck and process foam systems.

Hand-portable and wheeled extinguishers charged with dry chemical, CO2, foam, or clean agent for first-response on small fires. They are rated by fire class and distributed across facilities per applicable fire codes.

Passive fire protection systems—cable and pipe transit blocks, fire stops, and fire-rated penetration seals—that maintain the integrity of fire-rated barriers where services pass through walls, decks, and bulkheads. They limit the spread of fire, smoke, and gas between compartments on platforms and in modules.
