Safety Instrumented Systems

SIL-rated programmable controllers that read safety inputs, execute the safety logic, and command final elements to a safe state. They use diagnostics and redundant architectures to meet the required integrity level.

Logic solvers using three parallel processing channels with 2-out-of-3 voting so a single channel fault cannot cause a spurious trip or a dangerous failure. Common in high-availability ESD and HIPPS duties.

Field-to-logic packages that isolate, depressurize, or trip a process or platform on demand. They drive ESD valves, blowdown valves, and unit trips to bring equipment to a defined safe state.

Fast-acting SIS that protects downstream piping and vessels from overpressure by closing dedicated valves before relief devices are reached, used where mechanical relief alone is impractical. Typically engineered to SIL 3.

SIL-certified pressure, temperature, level, and flow transmitters that provide the initiating measurements for safety functions. Selection accounts for failure-rate data and proof-test requirements.

SIL-certified shutdown valves, actuators, and solenoid valves that physically bring the process to a safe state on command from the logic solver. They are the final, action-taking element of a safety function.

Instrumented systems that detect overpressure or sudden pressure/flow loss indicating a leak or rupture and trigger isolation or shutdown of pipeline segments. Used to limit release volume and protect line integrity.

Instruments that monitor ionizing radiation for worker and process safety, including personal dosimeters that track accumulated dose and neutron/gamma survey meters. Applied where sealed sources, density gauges, or NORM are present.
