Respiratory Protection

Atmosphere-supplying respirators in which the wearer carries a high-pressure cylinder of breathing air on a backframe, making the user independent of any external air source. Used for emergency entry, rescue, and immediately dangerous to life or health (IDLH) atmospheres such as H2S releases.

Respirators that deliver breathing air to the user through an airline hose from a remote cylinder bank or compressor, reducing the weight carried by the worker. Common for sustained confined-space entry, tank cleaning, and abrasive blasting.

Negative-pressure respirators that draw ambient air through particulate filters or gas/vapor cartridges as the wearer inhales. Available as half-mask, full-facepiece, and disposable filtering facepiece styles for non-IDLH atmospheres with adequate oxygen.

Battery-powered units that use a blower to force filtered air into a hood, helmet, or tight-fitting facepiece, providing positive pressure and a higher assigned protection factor. Reduce breathing resistance and accommodate facial hair when used with loose-fitting hoods.

Manifolded banks of high-pressure cylinders or breathing-air compressors with regulators and distribution lines that supply Grade D air to multiple airline respirators. Used to support crews during extended confined-space or blasting operations.

Non-interchangeable quick-connect fittings, airline hose, and manifold connectors that route breathing air between the source and the respirator. Keyed coupling designs prevent accidental connection to incompatible or non-breathable gas lines.

Replaceable media that capture specific hazards, including N/R/P-series particulate filters and chemical cartridges for organic vapors, acid gases, and ammonia. Color coding and service-life ratings guide selection and change-out schedules.

Compact short-duration supplied-air or filtering escape devices that allow a worker to exit an IDLH atmosphere, such as an H2S release, but are not rated for routine work entry. Often staged at well sites and process units for rapid egress.

Equipment and consumables that support a respiratory protection program, including qualitative and quantitative fit-test apparatus, test agents, and sanitizing and storage supplies. Required to verify face-seal performance before tight-fitting respirators are used.
