Permanent Well Barriers & Plugs
Cement and mechanical barriers placed across the wellbore to permanently isolate zones, including cross-section cement plugs that meet regulator length and verification requirements. These barriers are pressure tested and tagged to confirm integrity.
Bridge Plugs (CIBP)
Mechanical plugs run on wireline, tubing, or coiled tubing to seal the casing bore as a base for cement. Cast iron bridge plugs (CIBP) are commonly set below a cement cap to form a verified barrier.
Dump Bailer Cementing
A downhole tool that places a measured volume of cement on top of a bridge plug or other base, run on wireline for controlled spot placement. Used where small, accurately positioned cement caps are required rather than pumped plugs.
Wellhead & Casing Cut and Recovery
Severing and removing the wellhead, conductor, and casing strings near or below grade once downhole barriers are confirmed. Includes mechanical and abrasive cutting methods to recover tubulars and clear the site.
Barrier Verification & Testing
Tagging cement plugs to confirm depth and hardness and pressure testing barriers to demonstrate they hold. Verification documents that each permanent barrier meets the governing abandonment requirement.
Decommissioning Consulting & Engineering
Engineering of the abandonment program, barrier placement design, and regulatory compliance planning for well retirement. Covers both single-well P&A packages and multi-well or field decommissioning campaigns.
Offshore P&A
Abandonment of subsea and platform wells, including conductor and casing recovery below the mudline. Subject to additional decommissioning and site-clearance regulations beyond onshore requirements.
Alternative Barrier Materials
Non-cement permanent barriers such as bismuth-based or thermite-set metal plugs and engineered sealants used where cement alone is unsuitable. Applied to create or supplement permanent barriers in challenging wellbores.
