Chemical Containment

Fiberglass-reinforced plastic tanks with a chemically resistant resin liner, used for hydrochloric and other acids because the composite resists corrosion without an internal coating. Built to ASTM D3299 (filament-wound) or D4097 (contact-molded).

Carbon-steel shells protected by a bonded PVC, polypropylene, or PTFE liner that isolates the steel from acid. The liner provides corrosion resistance while the steel carries the structural load.

Steel tanks internally lined with vulcanized natural or synthetic rubber sheet to handle concentrated hydrochloric acid and other aggressive chemicals. Common in larger fixed acid storage where abrasion and acid attack coexist.

One-piece molded polyethylene tanks, including cross-linked (XLPE) types, used for dilute acids and treating chemicals. Specified to ASTM D1998 and rated by chemical and specific-gravity service.

Tank-within-a-tank designs where an outer shell captures any leak from the inner vessel, providing integral secondary containment without a separate dike. Suited to zero-spill and space-limited installations.

Bermed dikes, lined catch basins, and spill pallets sized to hold a percentage of the largest tank's volume per SPCC rules. They contain releases from primary acid tanks and piping.

Field-installed flexible liners—PVC, polyurethane, or XR-5/Hypalon—that convert standard steel frac and storage tanks into acid-compatible vessels and prevent fluid contact with the steel wall.

Skid- or trailer-mounted lined tanks used to deliver and stage stimulation acid at the well site. Constructed with the same corrosion-resistant linings as fixed tanks for short-term field storage.
