Triazine-Based Liquid Scavengers
Water-based H2S scavengers built on hexahydrotriazine chemistry, most commonly MEA-triazine (from monoethanolamine) and the lower-amine-odor MMA-triazine, which react with H2S to form non-regenerable thiadiazine and dithiazine products. They are the dominant field chemistry for low-to-moderate H2S loads in gas and liquid streams.
Non-Triazine and Specialty Scavengers
Alternative scavenger chemistries used where triazine is unsuitable - for example glyoxal-based, aldehyde, metal-oxide, or nitrite-based products - chosen to avoid amine odor, reduce solid (dithiazine) scale deposition, or treat specific water and crude applications.
Direct-Injection Treatment Systems
Inline systems that inject liquid scavenger directly into a sour flowline, relying on pipeline contact length and turbulence or a static mixer to achieve gas-liquid contact. Suited to liquid streams and lower-volume gas applications where a contact tower is not justified.
Contact Tower and Eductor Systems
Vessel-based equipment - bubble or packed contact towers and venturi/eductor units - that maximizes interfacial contact between sour gas and scavenger for higher gas rates and tighter outlet H2S specifications, improving scavenger utilization versus direct injection.
Chemical Injection Pumps and Metering Skids
Electric, pneumatic, or solar-powered metering pumps and packaged injection skids that store, meter, and deliver scavenger at controlled rates proportional to flow and inlet H2S concentration. Includes tanks, calibration columns, and flow controls.
Sour Water and Produced-Water Treatment Chemicals
Scavengers and neutralizers formulated for the aqueous phase to reduce dissolved H2S and sulfides in produced and sour water, supporting disposal, reinjection, or reuse specifications and reducing downstream corrosion and odor.
H2S Monitoring and Detection Instrumentation
Fixed and portable H2S analyzers, gas detectors, and sampling equipment used to verify inlet and treated-stream H2S levels, confirm scavenger performance, and protect personnel in sour-service areas.
