Pig Launchers and Receivers

Barrel-and-closure assemblies that load a pig into the upstream end of a pipeline and use kicker-line flow plus mainline pressure to push it into the line. Sized with an oversized barrel and an eccentric reducer so the pig seats against the reducer before launch.

Downstream vessels that decelerate and capture the pig along with any liquids or solids it has swept ahead, isolating it from the mainline for removal through the closure. Also called scraper traps.

Hinged or threaded pressure-tight doors fitted to the barrel end that allow rapid manual access for loading and unloading pigs. Equipped with pressure-warning and locking interlocks to prevent opening while the vessel is pressurized.

Full-bore isolation and bypass valves, typically full-port ball or through-conduit gate valves, that segregate the trap from the mainline and route kicker and bypass flow. The full, unobstructed bore lets pigs pass without snagging or damage.

The inline tools propelled through the pipeline, including foam (poly) pigs, mandrel pigs with replaceable cups and discs, solid-cast pigs, and inflatable or solid spheres used for cleaning, batching, and dewatering.

Intrusive or non-intrusive devices mounted on the barrel or mainline that indicate the passage or presence of a pig, confirming launch, transit, and arrival at the receiver.

The reducers, kicker and bypass lines, vent, drain, and pressure-relief connections that complete a launcher or receiver skid and connect it to the mainline and utility systems.

Field services covering pipeline cleaning, dewatering and commissioning runs, batching, and in-line inspection pig runs, including trap operation, pig tracking, and debris handling.
