Choke and Control Valves

Chokes that use a fixed-diameter replaceable orifice bean or insert to set a constant flow restriction. They provide a stable, repeatable bottomhole and surface pressure for steady production but require disassembly to change the orifice size.

Chokes with a movable stem, needle, or gate that varies the flow area while the valve remains in service. They allow on-the-fly adjustment of flow rate and backpressure without changing physical beans.

Wellhead-mounted chokes that control and stabilize the flow of oil, gas, and produced fluids from a well into surface facilities. They protect downstream equipment, manage drawdown, and are typically rated to API 6A working pressures.

Hydraulically or manually actuated chokes installed on the choke manifold to control casing pressure and bottomhole pressure during well control events, kicks, and managed- or overbalanced-pressure drilling. They are built to API 16C requirements for choke and kill systems.

Chokes engineered with hardened, erosion-resistant trim (tungsten carbide, ceramic, or Stellite) to handle high differential pressure, high velocity, and abrasive sand-laden or multiphase flow. They are used where standard trim would erode rapidly.

Choke assemblies with hydraulic or electric actuators and position feedback, controlled remotely or by a programmable control system. They enable automated flow and pressure control, including closed-loop managed-pressure drilling.

Valves providing two isolation barriers in series with a bleed point between them, allowing positive isolation and venting of the trapped cavity for safe maintenance and verification of seal integrity. They are common on choke manifolds and instrument and sampling connections.

Assemblies that combine multiple chokes, isolation valves, gauges, and flow paths to route and control returns during drilling and well control operations. Associated accessories include flexible choke and kill hoses rated to API 16C.
