China Geological Equipment Research Institute Co., Ltd. (Chinese: 中地装（北京）科学技术研究院有限公司, abbreviated Zhongdi Zhuang Research Institute) is a wholly-owned subsidiary of China Geological Equipment Group Co., Ltd. (CGEG), itself a wholly-owned subsidiary of SINOMACH (China National Machinery Industry Corporation), a Fortune Global 500 enterprise. The institute was established in late 2015 by integrating CGEG's technology center and Beijing Drilling Tool Factory, and serves as the group's Beijing-based product research and development innovation platform. It employs 50-150 people and is classified as a state-owned enterprise. The company has long been committed to the research and application of drilling equipment across the resources, energy, environment, and marine sectors. In the resources sector, it was the first to develop electric-drive top-drive and vertical-axis core drilling rigs as well as multi-process automated drilling rigs. In the energy sector, it has developed electric-drive geothermal and petroleum drilling rigs, including the ZJ30/40/50/70DB series oil rig. In the environmental sector, it pioneered the development of vehicle-mounted environmental survey drilling vehicles. In the marine sector, it has pioneered top-drive marine drilling rigs and automated complete equipment with heave compensation designed for medium to deep sea operations. The company's DQ30BS, DQ40BS, and DQ50BS top drive systems feature AC frequency conversion dual motors and have been deployed in coal-bed methane, oil and gas, and natural gas projects in Shanxi, Shaanxi, Gansu, and Inner Mongolia. The institute also produces the XD-12R multi-process fully hydraulic drill and portable core drills. It holds API certifications 8C (PSL 1 and PSL 2) and Q1, along with ISO 9001 Quality Management System and ISO 45001 Occupational Health and Safety certifications. Products are exported to Africa, South America, Southeast Asia, and other resource-rich regions. Trade terms include FOB/CIF/EXW, with payments accepted in RMB, USD, and EUR.
