ELMESS Thermosystemtechnik GmbH is a world-leading German manufacturer of electrical heating systems for industrial process applications, with particular expertise in explosion-proof (ATEX/IECEx) environments. Founded in 1945 by Herbert Schweda in Berlin as a manufacturer of electrical devices and measuring equipment, the company introduced the first explosion-proof electrical heater with integrated temperature monitoring in 1956, developed in collaboration with the German Federal Institute of Physics and Technology (PTB). Headquartered in Uelzen, Lower Saxony, Germany, ELMESS operates from a 3,000 square meter manufacturing facility equipped with welding (TIG, MAG), hard soldering, machining, surface treatment, and electrical/electronic assembly capabilities.
