Iron Horse Energy Services is a Canadian pressure pumping company founded in 2005 in the Medicine Hat area of Alberta. The company specializes in coiled tubing fracturing (FTC) services across the Western Canadian Sedimentary Basin, operating in formations including Cardium, Charlie Lake, Mannville Stack, Viking, Montney, and Shaunavon. Iron Horse operates 10 coiled tubing rigs across Alberta, British Columbia, and Saskatchewan, with blenders rated at 14 cubic meters per minute and masted coiled tubing units capable of depths exceeding 8,000 meters. The company has completed approximately 35,000 fracturing stages across 2,500 wells and maintains a reported 98.5% uptime record. In August 2025, Trican Well Service Ltd. acquired Iron Horse for approximately $231 million ($77.35 million cash plus 33.76 million Trican shares). The company continues to operate as a wholly owned division of Trican, retaining existing management and employees.
