Gas Lift Valves - Wireline & Tubing Retrievable

Valves dominated by casing (injection) pressure on the bellows, which controls opening; the spread between opening and closing pressure is set by the dome charge and port size. They are the most common unloading and operating valve type in continuous-flow gas lift.

Valves sensitive mainly to tubing (production) pressure, used where casing pressure is held constant or where the operating point must respond to tubing conditions, including many intermitting and chamber-lift applications.

Fixed-port valves with a check feature but no pressure-sensing bellows, installed at the operating (deepest injection) point to pass gas continuously once the well is unloaded. They meter injection by port size rather than opening pressure.

Solid blanking inserts run in a side-pocket mandrel to seal off the injection port, isolating the annulus from the tubing during completion, testing, or when a station is not in service.

Valves installed in and recovered from side-pocket mandrels by slickline kickover tools, allowing valve changes, reconfiguration, or repair without pulling the tubing string.

Valves threaded into conventional mandrels welded or made up in the tubing string; recovery requires pulling the completion, but the design offers a robust, large-port option for high-rate wells.

Side-pocket-mounted check valves that admit treatment chemicals such as corrosion, scale, or hydrate inhibitors from a control line or annulus into the production stream while preventing backflow.

Slickline running and pulling tools that position a valve into the offset pocket of a side-pocket mandrel, together with the latches that lock the valve and seal the pocket bore.
