Globe Control Valves
Linear-motion valves with a plug-and-seat trim moving perpendicular to the seat, offering precise modulation and a wide range of characterized trims. They are the most common throttling valve for general process and critical service in oil and gas.
Rotary Control Valves
Quarter-turn valves whose closure member rotates rather than strokes linearly, including high-performance butterfly and eccentric-plug designs. They provide high flow capacity and lower cost in a compact body for larger-bore modulating duties.
Segmented (V-Notch) Ball Control Valves
Rotary valves using a contoured V-port ball segment to produce an approximately equal-percentage flow characteristic with high rangeability. They suit slurry, fibrous, and sticky media where a shearing action helps keep the seat clean.
Multi-Stage / Anti-Cavitation Trim Valves
Control valves fitted with cage or labyrinth trim that drops pressure across several stages to limit velocity, cavitation, flashing, and noise. They are used for high-pressure-drop critical service such as choke and let-down applications.
Cage-Guided Control Valves
Globe-style valves in which the plug is guided by and throttles through a perforated cage, giving stable operation and easily interchangeable trim characteristics. The cage design simplifies maintenance and supports balanced-plug configurations for high differential pressure.
Pressure-Balanced / High-Pressure Control Valves
Valves whose trim is balanced to reduce the actuator force needed against high upstream pressure, often rated to API 6A or high ANSI/ASME pressure classes. They are applied at wellheads, manifolds, and gas-processing service with elevated line pressures.
Desuperheaters and Temperature Control Valves
Devices that inject finely atomized water into superheated steam or vapor to reduce its temperature to a controlled setpoint. They are used in refinery and process-utility steam systems to protect downstream equipment.
Control Valve Actuators and Positioners
The pneumatic, electric, or electro-hydraulic drives and feedback positioners that stroke the valve trim to a commanded position. Positioners convert a control signal into precise stem travel and provide diagnostics and characterization for retrofit and modulating duty.
