Beijing Petroleum Machinery Co., Ltd. (BPM, 北京石油机械有限公司), formerly known as Beijing Petroleum Machinery Factory, was founded in 1955 as an internship factory of Beijing Petroleum Institute and has grown into a nationally recognized high-tech enterprise under CNPC Kunlun Manufacturing Co., Ltd. with a registered capital of RMB 420 million. BPM is the world's second largest manufacturer of top drive drilling systems and the world's largest supplier of blowout preventer (BOP) control devices. The company operates an intelligent joint factory equipped with more than 100 sets of world-class CNC processing equipment, inspection and testing equipment, internationally advanced environment-friendly painting equipment, and intelligent warehousing management systems. BPM holds 1 national-level engineering laboratory and 2 group-owned laboratories, with more than 300 national patented technologies. Its six primary product lines cover top drive drilling systems, BOP control devices, measuring-while-drilling (MWD/LWD) instruments, screw downhole motors, drilling jars and shock absorbers, and progressive cavity (screw) oil well pumps. BPM is API Q1 and Q2 certified and holds ISO 9001, CCS, CE, and CU certifications. Products are exported to more than 60 countries and regions across the Middle East, Central Asia, Americas, Africa, Southeast Asia, and Europe, directly supporting PetroChina's Belt and Road Initiative strategy. BPM was recognized as a Beijing Role Model in Ethical and Cultural Progress in 2021 and earned National Green Demonstration Factory status in 2023.
