Drilling Instrumentation

Sensors and indicators that measure surface drilling variables such as hookload, weight on bit, rotary torque, RPM, standpipe pressure, pump strokes, and rate of penetration. They feed the driller's console and electronic drilling recorder (EDR).

Instruments that measure wellbore inclination and azimuth to map trajectory, including magnetic single/multi-shot tools, rate gyros, and drop gyro survey systems. Used for directional control, anti-collision, and as-drilled survey reporting.

Bottomhole-assembly sensors (accelerometers, magnetometers, pressure and temperature sensors, vibration and shock sensors) plus the mud-pulse, electromagnetic, or wired-pipe telemetry that transmits their readings to surface.

Gas chromatographs, total-gas detectors, and cuttings/sample analysis equipment that monitor hydrocarbon shows and gas composition for formation evaluation and well-control surveillance at the mud-logging unit.

Software platforms that integrate LWD/MWD measurements, offset logs, and survey data to position the wellbore within a target reservoir interval and support real-time formation evaluation.

Downhole optical and acoustic cameras and imaging tools that visually inspect the borehole, casing, and tubular condition or capture oriented images of the formation face.

Armored and logging-grade cables, wireline, and connectors that carry power and signal between surface instruments and downhole or rig-floor sensors in the drilling environment.

Discrete rig-mounted devices such as crown protectors (crown-saver), deadline anchor load sensors, and chart recorders that monitor specific equipment loads and travel limits to protect the rig and crew.
