Petrosmith Equipment, LP is a vertically integrated manufacturer of ASME- and API-certified tanks, pressure vessels, and modular process systems headquartered in Abilene, Texas. Founded in 1983 as Smith Pipe, the company evolved from used pipe distribution into full-scale tank and vessel manufacturing, rebranding as Petrosmith in 2014. The company serves oil and gas, industrial, petrochemical, water treatment, fuel storage, HVAC, renewable energy, compressed air, and data center infrastructure markets. Petrosmith's in-house capabilities span engineering, 3D modeling, fabrication, carbon/stainless/alloy welding, NACE-certified blasting and coating, hydrostatic and pneumatic testing, and turnkey assembly. The company holds ASME, API, UL 142, and NACE certifications. Petrosmith operates from a large manufacturing campus and produces thousands of tanks and vessels annually. In 2018, Blue Wolf Capital acquired the company, and in 2020 Petrosmith acquired Wellflex Energy Solutions (rebranded as Modflex by Petrosmith) to expand modular equipment capabilities. Product lines include process tanks, storage tanks, heated vessels, separators, filtration systems, stainless steel systems, process equipment, and the proprietary TESSEL closed-loop vessel for enhanced oil recovery and emissions reduction.
