Storage & Terminals

Vertical welded or bolted steel tanks, including fixed-roof, external floating-roof (EFR), and internal floating-roof (IFR) designs, used to store crude oil and refined products. Floating roofs reduce vapor space and evaporative loss for volatile products, and tanks are built and maintained to API 650 and API 653.

Pressure vessels such as bullets (horizontal cylinders), spheres (Hortonspheres), and refrigerated tanks used for propane, butane, and other liquefied petroleum gases and NGLs that must be stored above atmospheric pressure or at low temperature. Designs follow ASME Section VIII and, for low-pressure refrigerated tanks, API 620.

Subsurface storage including salt-dome and bedded-salt caverns, depleted reservoirs, and aquifers used primarily for natural gas and NGL inventory. These systems provide large working-gas volumes and seasonal balancing for the gas market.

Waterfront facilities with docks, jetties, and loading arms that transfer petroleum, chemicals, and break-bulk cargo between vessels and shore storage. Houston Ship Channel and Port of Houston terminals are major U.S. examples handling crude, products, and industrial cargo.

Land-based racks and gantries that load and unload tank trucks and rail cars using top- or bottom-loading arms, meters, and overfill controls. They connect storage inventory to distribution fleets and remote markets.

Measurement skids that quantify volume and quality at the change of ownership or transport mode, using positive-displacement, turbine, Coriolis, or ultrasonic meters with provers and samplers. Measurement and proving practices follow the API Manual of Petroleum Measurement Standards (API MPMS).

Tanks, ponds, and lined impoundments used to hold produced water, frac water, and other industrial water for recycling, treatment, or disposal at terminals and field facilities. Steel and bolted tanks plus modular pits manage large oilfield water volumes.

Engineering, procurement, and construction work to build storage tanks, foundations, secondary containment, piping manifolds, and loading infrastructure. Scope includes field-erected tank fabrication, gas storage facility construction, and site civil works.
