Welded Steel Pipes

Electric-resistance-welded (including high-frequency HFW/HFIW) pipe in which the longitudinal seam is forged from the heated strip edges without filler metal. Typically produced in small-to-medium diameters for gathering lines, plant piping, and lower-pressure transmission per API 5L and ASTM A53.

Longitudinally submerged-arc-welded pipe formed from plate (UOE, JCOE, or roll-and-weld) with a straight seam welded inside and out (double-submerged-arc, DSAW). Used for medium-to-large diameter, heavier-wall high-pressure transmission pipelines.

Helically (spiral) submerged-arc-welded pipe made by forming coil at an angle and welding the continuous spiral seam. Favored for large-diameter, lower-to-moderate-pressure water, disposal, and transmission lines where long lengths and wide diameter ranges are needed.

Austenitic and other stainless grades welded per ASTM A312/A358 for corrosion-resistant service such as sour gas, produced water, and chemical handling. Available as as-welded or weld-and-cold-worked product.

Commercially pure and alloy titanium welded tubular used where chloride-induced corrosion or seawater exposure exceeds the limits of stainless steel, such as offshore seawater and heat-exchanger service.

Welded carbon steel pipe in large diameters produced to AWWA C200 for water injection, transmission, and disposal systems, typically supplied with protective lining and coating.

General-purpose carbon steel pipe to ASTM A53 (welded or seamless) and A106 (seamless) for mechanical, low-pressure conveyance, and structural use in facility and plant piping, with A53 Grade B being a common pressure grade.
