Frac Blenders
Mobile blending units that mix base fluid, additives, and proppant into fracturing slurry and discharge it to the high-pressure pumps. They form the central metering and mixing stage of a hydraulic fracturing spread.
Frac Blenders (Trailer/Truck-Mounted)
Self-contained mobile blending units mounted on trailers or trucks that suction clean fluid, add proppant and additives, and discharge mixed slurry to the frac pumps. They are the standard primary blender on most fracturing spreads.
Electric (E-Frac) Blenders
Blenders driven by electric motors powered from grid, turbine, or generator sources rather than diesel engines, reducing on-site emissions and noise. Often paired with electric frac fleets and remote-controlled from the data van.
Electric Blenders (E-Frac)
Blender units driven by electric motors rather than diesel-hydraulic power, typically supplied from grid power or on-site generation. They reduce on-location emissions and noise and support remote, automated control.
Hydration Units (OTF / On-the-Fly Gel Hydration)
Units that hydrate gelling polymers continuously in line with the fracturing operation, providing fully hydrated gel to the blender at rate. On-the-fly hydration eliminates the need for large pre-mixed gel batch tanks.
Proppant Feed & Conveying Systems
Hoppers, sand screws, augers, and belt conveyors that meter proppant from storage into the blender tub at a controlled rate. They govern proppant concentration and must handle high abrasion from sand.
Polymer Hydration Units
Skids that pre-hydrate dry or liquid gelling polymers (such as guar) in water to develop viscosity before the fluid reaches the blender. Continuous hydration units allow on-the-fly gel preparation during the treatment.
Integrated Blender Units
Combined systems that package hydration, blending, and chemical metering on a single trailer or skid. They reduce the number of units and interconnect hoses required on location.
Chemical Injection & Additive Systems
Metering pumps, tanks, and control systems that inject liquid friction reducers, biocides, scale inhibitors, and other additives into the fluid stream at precise rates. They allow programmed additive concentrations tied to slurry rate.
Proppant Delivery Systems
The sand screw, auger, and metering equipment that conveys proppant from storage into the mixing tub at a controlled rate. They set the proppant concentration in the discharged slurry.
Bulk Chemical & Dry Additive Storage
Tanks, totes, and silos that stage liquid and dry chemicals near the blender for feed during treatment. Includes bulk storage for friction reducers, gels, and dry-blended additive systems.
Chemical and Liquid-Additive Systems
Metering pumps, manifolds, and controls that inject liquid and dry additives into the fluid stream at programmed ratios. They deliver friction reducers, crosslinkers, biocides, and other treatment chemicals.
Direct-to-Blender (DTB) Systems
Feed arrangements that deliver friction reducer and other liquid additives straight into the blender tub or suction line rather than batch-mixing in tanks, simplifying logistics for slickwater operations.
Centrifugal Charge and Discharge Pumps
Suction and discharge pumps that feed the mixing tub and boost blended slurry to the high-pressure pumps. Suction pumps maintain clean-fluid supply while discharge pumps deliver slurry at positive charge pressure.
Slurry Discharge & Suction Manifolds
Low-pressure suction and discharge piping, manifolds, and centrifugal boost pumps that move fluid into and slurry out of the blender to the high-pressure pump intakes. They set the available rate to the fleet.
Gas Induction Impellers and Mixing Components
Impellers and tub internals engineered to mix proppant and additives uniformly while limiting air entrainment in the slurry. Abrasion-resistant impellers and liners extend service life in proppant-laden service.
